Walking tours, outings on the mountain bike or on horseback, orienteering, swimming, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, waterskiing, dragon boat….There is no better way to get to know a territory than to travel through it by foot, on mountain bike or on horseback. Valsugana offers many routes allowing for gradual exploration of the interesting natural and historical spots, in the company of expert alpine guides.
You can follow the easy paths down in the valley and around the lakes of Levico e di Caldonazzoor the more demanding routes that climb up the mountains, or the more demanding routes that climb up the mountains, from where you can admire an amazing view on both the lakes of Levico e di Caldonazzo, and to the near Panarottaand the Lagorai-Cima d’Asta, mountains. The latter is one of the largest and most striking mountain range, though the least famous, of the eastern Alpes rich in lakes of glacial origin and in war remains of the First World War. It is through Valsugana that the European Walking Route E 5 runs, connecting the Lago di Costanza with Adriatic sea, as well as the Peace Track, along the First World War frontline.Furthermore, beautiful paths lead to the Plateu di Vezzena along the Austro-Hungarian fortresses of the First World War.
But it is thanks to the lakes that Valsugana is the ultimate place for those keen on water sports like swimming, sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing, canoeing and fishing. Around the lake of Caldonazzo there are four aquatic sports clubs that offer sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, rowing, waterskiing and dragon boat, organizing regatta's and (inter)national races.
