Caldonazzo-lake and Levico-lake
Calceranica is a nice village at the lakeside of the Lake of Caldonazzo. The
Mandola creek that divides the village in two parts has its spring in the
western part of the Vigolana. In the left handed upper part of the town there is
the church of Santa Assunta, which is known since 1027. On a hilltop in the
midst of the old town an old church dedicated to S.Ermete and built after the
traditional temple of Diana pictures the place.
Today's economy consist of the development of tourist facilities favoured by the
lake that attracts hundreds of tourists every year. There are 4 hotels, 7
campsites and private apartments.
Many hiking trails start along the lakeside and on the near territory. Moreover,
Calceranica is the starting point of the nice bicycle path that crosses the
entire Valsugana.
